Harvard Life Lab - A New Home for Harvard Life Sciences Ventures
this story of the Harvard innovation labs begins in 2011 with the launch of the Harvard I lab the AI lab is an educational collaborative supporting student startups for any Harvard student from any Harvard School to explore innovation and entrepreneurship at any stage it provides open co-working space a vibrant community of peer and mentor support experiential programming and a 12-week venture incubation program that helps student teams take their ideas further faster since its opening the AI lab has supported more than 600 venture teams and empowered thousands of students in their exploration of innovation and entrepreneurship while supporting Harvard University's commitment to the vision of one Harvard in response to demand from Harvard alums the AI lab was joined in 2014 by the Harvard launch lab a curated community of Harvard alumni led high potential early-stage startups now hosting more than 25 high-growth ventures from across Harvard University the launch lab has exceeded all expectations the newest addition to the Harvard innovation labs is the Harvard Life lab opening in fall 2016 the life lab will offer a cutting-edge laboratory and a curated community focused on supporting Harvard faculty alumni and student led startups in the life sciences the 15,000 square-foot custom-designed B sl1 lab allows any qualified life sciences startup to hit the ground running with all permits waste handling and all common lab equipment needed for life sciences research the life lab will be operated by lab central the leader in shared wet lab co-working facilities the life lab will include a kitchen write up spaces fixed and benchtop equipment freezers refrigerators and storage space a bsl-2 lab suite and Industry specific programming developed for Life Sciences startups life lab members will also have full access to and immersion in the resources of the adjacent Harvard eye lab including its 24 conference rooms prototyping room and venture focus programming such as workshops and advisors Ventures working out of the life lab will have an unparalleled opportunity to take their ventures further faster the life lab is a capstone addition to the Harvard innovation labs ecosystem expanding our reach and bolstering our role as a leading catalyst for Harvard's Allston science and Enterprise District please join us at the Harvard Life lab a part of the Harvard innovation labs ecosystem opening fall 2016
